Our popular tutored writing retreat is set in the wonderful house and grounds of Walcot Hall, Shropshire. Run by experienced authors and tutors, the morning workshops are designed to explore voice, writing from place and creating worlds. The afternoons are free to give you space to write and explore this beautiful setting.

Lovely five days (four nights) at Walcot Hall with well planned and supported tutored mornings and time to get on with projects, set work and exploring the grounds. Arranged catering absolute delight!

A fantastic writing course, 5 stars all the way. A very illuminating course spanning prose and poetry. I felt very well led in the hands of expert and kind tutors. The food was excellent, the company more so and the surrounding terrain meant lots of forests and hillside walks, perfect for a writer’s body. I cannot recommend enough, thank you!

Another wonderful course from Inkwell. The facilitation was excellent, enabling and freeing the group to produce some unexpected responses to the various writing prompts. It was also very inspiring to hear the tutors and guest of honour Carol Ann Duffy read some of their own excellent writing and to learn from their humble discussions of their own writing processes.
